Jungle Pulse is made by Lyngbit Games ("we"). Contact: support@lyngbit.com.
The short version
- No sign-up: no e-mail, password or real name. No advertising, no tracking, no analytics of our own.
- Your progress is kept on your device. When you play online, the game makes an anonymous online profile (a random player number) and saves a copy of your progress on our server, so you can get it back on a new phone or after reinstalling. You can delete the profile and everything stored with it from the game at any time.
- When you play online, the other players see your nickname, your Kin and what it wears. Your internet address is never stored.
On your device
The game keeps your profile (nickname and Kin), your settings, your match history, your level, Seeds and gear in the game's own storage on your device. With an online profile a copy is also kept on our server (below). Deleting the game deletes what is on your device.
If the game hits an error, it keeps a short technical note (the last 40, with the game version and phone model) in the same storage. It is sent only if you choose to share it from the How to play page.
When you play online
- What is sent: your nickname, the Kin you play and what it wears, your moves in the match, and the room code when you play with friends.
- Who sees it: the other players in the same match see your nickname, your Kin, what it wears and your moves.
- What the server keeps: the match and its result, in memory only, while the match runs and for up to 15 minutes afterwards, so you can come back to it if your connection drops; it then deletes them. And a log line when you join, leave or finish a match: the time, your nickname, a room number, and a short scrambled code made from your internet address. The code changes every time the server restarts, so it cannot be linked to you over time. Logs are deleted after 14 days. We use them only to keep the game running and to find faults.
- Your internet address is used while you are connected (to send you the game and to stop abuse, such as too many connections from one address). It is not written down. If we block a connection for abuse, a scrambled code made from that internet address is kept for the length of the block (at most 7 days) and noted in our admin record, which is deleted within three months.
- Encryption: the connection to the game server is encrypted (TLS).
Online profile, saved progress and leaderboards
- When it is made: the first time you play online. It is a random player number and a secret only your device knows (kept in the phone's secure storage); we keep only a scrambled form of the secret.
- What we store with it: your nickname and Kin; a copy of your progress (level and XP, Seeds, gear, your last 20 matches and your profile choices; never sound or vibration settings); the results of your online quick matches (place, win, knockouts, times you were knocked out, damage, date); and, for up to 7 days, a scrambled transfer code if you make one to move your progress to another phone.
- Who sees it: nobody but you, except the leaderboards: there other players see your nickname, your Kin, your rank and the number it ranks by (wins, knockouts, knockouts per fall, level). Rude nicknames are shown as the Kin's name instead, and we may take a profile off the rankings (for example a rude name or cheating); the player keeps the profile and the saved progress.
- How long: until you delete it, or after 24 months without online play. When you save over your progress, the previous copy is kept for 30 days in case you need it back. Our backups of the server are kept for 7 days.
- Where: on our game server at OVHcloud in Singapore (outside the EU/EEA), in a data centre in Singapore.
- Moving to a new phone: in Settings → Online data you can make a one-time transfer code (valid 7 days) and enter it on the new phone, also between iPhone and Android. The old phone's copy then stops syncing.
- Deleting: Settings → Online data → Delete online data removes the profile, the saved copy, your results and your leaderboard places at once (backups within 7 days). You can choose to keep or also reset the progress on your phone. Without the app, write to support@lyngbit.com from the address you want an answer at, with your player number (shown in Settings → Online data), or see how to delete your data.
- Why (legal basis): to provide the game you asked for (saving and restoring your progress, online play) and to keep the leaderboards fair.
Other companies
- The game is built with the Unity engine. Unity may receive basic technical information about your device (for example the model and operating system version); see Unity's privacy policy.
- The game server runs at OVHcloud in Singapore (outside the EU/EEA), which stores the server, its logs and the online profiles for us.
- Apple (TestFlight, App Store) and Google (Google Play) handle downloads, test invitations and any reviews you write under their own privacy policies.
Children
Jungle Pulse is a game for everyone. We do not ask for anyone's age, real name, e-mail or location. A nickname is the only personal thing a player types; please do not use your real name as your nickname.
Your choices and rights
You can play without going online. You can see your player number and saved progress, and delete them, in Settings → Online data. If you want us to delete a log line with your nickname before the 14 days are over, or have a question, write to support@lyngbit.com. If you live in the EU/EEA (including Norway) you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in Norway: Datatilsynet).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page with its date.
